“Frugal” doesn’t always have to mean “cheap.” It can also mean that you’re making the best use of your time. Make this easy recipe once and you’ll have enough for 3-4 meals. Now that’s frugal!
Ingredients:
4 pounds of lean ground beef
4 cups of dry bread crumbs
2 cups milk
2 tsp salt
2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
Directions:
Preheat the oven to 400°F. Mix all the ingredients together in a large bowl until well-combined. (Note: When it comes to mixing meatballs, clean hands are better than spoons.) Form the meat mixture into balls about 1 1/2 inches in diameter. Arrange in a single layer on a cookie sheet with shallow sides. Bake 15-20 minutes, turning once halfway through to brown on both sides. Makes about six dozen meatballs, depending on the size.
TO FREEZE:
Flash freeze by putting meatballs in a shallow, open container and putting in the freezer for 30-60 minutes or until frozen. Seal in 1 lb packages. Store no more than two months. Thaw overnight in the fridge or in the microwave.
